Sometimes doing things the same way every time can limit you creatively. When we were discussing the concepts for the new Ergon Campaign, we came up with an idea that would normally be executed using software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. However, we came up with an idea that we considered infinitely more creative and with more possibilities for future placement of the Ergon logo in a variety of environments.
We actually mocked up our set using Photoshop, to get our sizes correct. We decided to build a miniature set, using cardboard , printouts and plasticine. We moulded the letters by hand and came up with a set that we lit with our video lights. The ability to control the light perfectly was fantastic as the end result was photographed by the studio from various angles. We even used coloured paper to create a virtual river that leads the eye towards the logo.
We have kept the letters and plan to shoot the logo in various location throughout Melbourne. (the city, the forest, bush, skate parks etc. ) The campaign will be taken through to the website and further print material. Overall we loved the process of making this piece of art and look forward to the possibilities in the future. To check out the finished piece and the print media it featured in click here.
